Research Of Magazine Advertisements

This is a magazine advertisement for a Drake song. Personally I think this advert is extremely effective and this advert in specific is where we got a lot of our inspiration from. It tells you everything you need to know about the song release, with an effective picture of the artists featuring in the song. The most important information is in bold, which brings attention to it straight away. There is no additional information drawing the audiences attention away, nor is there any other subliminal advertising methods used, it is purely just to inform people that the song is now available on iTunes, which is exactly what it needs to do and it is exactly what it has done. I believe that our magazine advertisement also follows this brief, and similar to this one, it tells you exactly what you need to know without any beating around the bush.
This is a magazine advertisement for one of Mika's album. I personally do not think that this is a good advert. The name of the artist stands out perfectly which many bright colours and wacky images, which would definitely draw the viewers attention. However, as this is an advert to promote the release of the album, it would be extremely more effective if the album date release and the information about it would be in bigger letters so that it would be instantaneously seen by any viewer.

Finally, this is another example of a very good magazine advert. The picture on the left titles the artists name in letters that stand out, and is not too cluttered with basic colours which still catch the viewers eye with the effective use of the 3 bars of red. Furthermore, the name of the album/song is in very bold letters and the date is even larger, which is doing exactly what the advert needs to do: promote the song release. This would be an effective advert to compare unto ours as our advert follows the same principles and conventions as this certain one.
